            No, in fact, we have revised the program to make it accessible to non-hypnotists. Not all hypnotherapy trainings are equal—and the extreme disparity in the skill level of many Certified Hypnotherapists led to the decision to add an Essential Hypnotic Techniques course that will precede the Fertility by Hypnosis^® training. The Fertility by Hypnosis^® course, itself, will reflect the addition of the Essential Hypnotic Techniques course, and, in an effort to “level the playing field” non-hypnotist newcomers attending Fertility by Hypnosis^® trainings after November 2009 will be required to take or test out of Essential Hypnotic Techniques.

            Fertility by Hypnosis^® is the newly restructured version of Lynsi Eastburn’s HypnoFertiity® training. After passing an exam, graduates of the program will  have earned the title Certified Fertility by Hypnosis^® Consultant (CFBC), and will have access to the newly implemented benefits of the Fertility by Hypnosis® Foundation. Some of these benefits include Hypnosis Cruises to the Western Caribbean available to book at wholesale pricing (the cost travel agents themselves get), group advertising, listing on the new web site, volume discount for materials, and much more.

            Hypnotic Essentials is a 2-day training in essential hypnosis techniques that hypnotherapists and non-hypnotherapists alike simply must know in order to be successful. Designed by Art Leidecker, this class is recommended for both Birth and Fertility by Hypnosis^® students. Hypnotic Essentials also serves as a powerful stand-alone refresher course for all hypnotherapists or HypnoBirthing^® practitioners who desire to attain that “edge” that separates the mediocre skill set from the sublime. The key to success in private practice is razor sharp hypnotic proficiency.

Birth by Hypnosis^® is the natural progression of the HypnoFertility^® method created by Lynsi Eastburn. It is a unique method of hypnotherapy for childbirth that evolved out of a need for hypnotherapists to directly and effectively address all types of birth—above and beyond natural, vaginal childbirth. Multiple births are often the result of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) and frequently Fertility by Hypnosis^® therapists find themselves working with clients who require hypnotic assistance with various prospective birth experiences including regular encounters with high risk mothers and mandatory cesarean sections. The purpose of this program is to teach fertility/birth/hypnosis practitioners how to properly prepare clients to utilize hypnosis for all birth and birth-related issues.

Birth by Hypnosis^® offers a client-centered approach to hypnotic childbirth which facilitates faster and more comfortable recovery, transition from pregnancy to motherhood, bonding, and breast feeding. It is designed to address the needs of mothers who may not want or be able to have a natural birth. The focus of the program is on hypnotic language and dealing with whatever emerges with each individual client. Birth by Hypnosis® is advantageous to mothers and babies alike. Benefits include a gentler, more effective birthing experience whether in hospital or at home; natural, vaginal birth; V-BAC (vaginal birth after cesarean); medicated or unmedicated; induced or not; scheduled or emergency c-section. Hypnosis can be used to potentiate medication and anesthesia, to counter fight or flight response, and to effectively tap into the body’s inherent birthing abilities.

Yes, HypnoBirthing^®—The Mongan Method espouses a philosophy of fear/tension/pain—fear causes tension which, in turn, causes pain; therefore fear must be eliminated. It is an excellent natural childbirth education program which makes use of some parts of the hypnotic process—particularly those applicable to natural, vaginal birth. Properly modified, some HypnoBirthing^® techniques could be used to support the various birthing experiences mentioned above, however extensive modification of that program would be absolutely necessary in order to successfully help such clients. Birth by Hypnosis^® is an advanced training which deals with all forms of birth by hypnosis. It is a flexible program and is complementary to all other childbirth education classes and/or methods, including HypnoBirthing^®.

Fertility by Hypnosis^® clients, that is to say, clients who have achieved fertility by hypnosis require unique birthing assistance. Their personal circumstances must be considered and integrated into the process so that their needs are fully and properly addressed. (Of course, this should be the case with any and every woman.) Such women (and, again, others as well) may have cultivated a severe fear of failure. This is often induced by medical intervention which has perpetuated a major loss of control and trust issues with their own bodies. A positive pregnancy test does not magically end what could be considered a nightmare for the fertility client. Most times she will still need hypnotic support to address fears and anxiety issues now focused on her pregnancy. A woman’s self-confidence and self-esteem can take a terrible beating during what is often a long and drawn out infertility experience.

Those who have navigated the heart wrenching path of infertility have most often become very informed consumers. They are skilled at research—they have sifted through hundreds and even thousands of books, journals, web sites, etc., and they have accumulated a lot of knowledge. Having experienced interviews, examinations, procedures, and such where they were invalidated, dismissed or disrespected, they have come to almost crave the support of a caring practitioner who will “show up” for them, support them, not only listen to them—but truly hear them. A natural propensity toward helping others combined with the precision hypnosis skills taught in this program is the unprecedented amalgamation you need to facilitate the most rewarding work of your life.

The methods taught in Birth by Hypnosis® will provide hypnotherapists, doulas, midwives, doctors, etc. with hypnotic knowledge and strong hypnosis skills. The program addresses what is needed to resolve previous birth trauma and/or other psychological blocks, as well as trance induction, trance management and depth evaluation, hypnotic languaging and patter, bypass of the critical faculty necessary to achieve the desired outcome, confidence increasing techniques, and much more.

            Absolutely. In fact, these are some of the issues that birth and fertility practitioners have been asking Lynsi Eastburn to address for years. These are issues she addresses regularly in her own private Fertility by Hypnosis^® practice, but it has become apparent that there just hasn’t been enough information available to help others learn how to work with these issues effectively.

            Lynsi Eastburn has been working with fertility clients in private practice and teaching her HypnoFertility^® program internationally for many years. Recently, she found that the work was far too much for one person, but she really wanted to see Fertility by Hypnosis^® grow to its potential. In January 2009 she enlisted the help of her longtime friend, Arthur Leidecker. Not only is Art a seasoned Board Certified  Hypnotherapist and Instructor, he also has decades of experience building various businesses. Art was a natural choice, he had been Lynsi’s original hypnotherapy instructor, and he had supported her development of HypnoFertility^® from its inception. But even beyond the obvious, Art has a special connection to Fertility by Hypnosis^®--he has a beautiful, healthy 7-year-old granddaughter because of it. Lynsi was thrilled when Art agreed to become her partner and form the non-profit organization, The HypnoFertility Foundation Inc., was born.
